Millie (Mildred) T. Martin, is based in Lisbon, Portugal - Washington, D.C. and performs everything from baroque to modern, classical to jazz, opera, pops, ballet, comedy and good ol' rock n roll.

In LA Millie enjoyed performing with Musica Angelica and has recorded at Gower Studios and Sony Studios. Millie worked at Omega and Cue Studios in the DC Metropolitan area.

Millie has recorded with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir(BWE) and the Washington Bach Sinfonia(Dorian) and has also worked on movie soundtracks and documentaries for PBS, Australian Film and Japanese Television. 

She has enjoyed performing with pop and rock artists James Taylor, Al Jarreau, Erykah Badu, The Moody Blues, Roberta Flack, Natalie Cole and also played at the Improv Comedy Club in NYC.

Millie taught bass at World Mission University in LA from 2016-2018 and taught bass at Humboldt State University from 2012-2014.

She premiered and recorded Dominick Argento's EVENSONG (Gothic) for the centennial celebration of the Washington National Cathedral.

James Demars'  AN AMERICAN REQUIEM, was recorded live in NYC at ST John's the Divine with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and broadcast on over 80 PBS stations thru out  the United States.

She has also premiered works by composers John Adams, John Wineglass,

Clarice Assad, Jake Heggie, Henry Mollicone and Loris Tjeknovarian.

Early music and opera festivals she has performed with include the Brazilian Early Music Festival with the National Gallery Chamber Players, the D.C. and Berkeley Early Music Festivals, the West Edge Summer Opera Festival and in Graz, Austria and Europe as bassist with the AIMS Festival Orchestra.

As a guest soloist Millie has performed with the Albany Consort and Musical Sources and was the bassist for the world premier of MOMIA EN EL CLOSET, nominated for best new score at the 2010 Helen Hayes Awards.

She received her B.M. from the Cleveland Institute of Music. While working for the Memphis Symphony Orchestra she received an M.M. as a full graduate assistant from Memphis State University.
