TEACHING
I teach all String Bass and Electric Bass and presently teach at World Mission University and substitute teach for the Harmony Project in LA.
I taught bass in the Cal State system at Humboldt State University from 2012-2014.
I also teach piano and all strings, sight singing/ ear traing, theory, harmony, improvisation and chart reading.
Before moving to California in 2011 I had a private music studio in Fairfax, VA. I also taught bass for the D.C. Youth Orchestra and in the Fairfax County Public School System, where I worked with school orchestra directors on how to play the bass so they could better teach it to their students in the group orchestra classes they taught. I was also an in school lows strings orchestral coach and judge for Solo and Ensemble Festivals in Fairfax County Public Schools.
While I was a full graduate assistant at Memphis State University I taught sight singing/ear training, harmony, music history to the music majors and string bass to the music education majors.
I teach all ages from beginning to advanced and all styles, orchestral (early music, baroque , classical and modern) and popular/ jazz (reading charts and improvising), with a focus on theory, history and style of performance.
I bring the knowledge of all the great teachers and principal bass players of major symphonies I have studied with to your lesson.
Please contact me for lessons to help you learn the music you want to play.
